AgriGuard – Smart Animal Repeller

We developed AgriGuard, a custom-built animal repellent system designed to protect farmlands without causing harm to wildlife. Using PIR and ultrasonic sensors, the system detects animal movement and automatically triggers sound and light deterrents to safely keep animals away.

Farmers across rural regions often face a constant challenge — protecting their crops from wild animals such as monkeys, elephants, and wild boars. Traditional methods like fencing, firecrackers, or manual guarding are either expensive, harmful, or unsustainable. Recognizing this pain point, we developed AgriGuard, a technology-driven solution that safeguards farmlands while ensuring the safety of animals and the environment.

AgriGuard combines PIR motion sensors with ultrasonic technology to detect the presence of animals in real time. Once movement is sensed, the system activates a series of sound and light deterrents using Arduino-based control circuits and relay mechanisms. This ensures that animals are startled and guided away, without inflicting any physical harm. The modular design allows customization for different types of farms and varying crop sizes, making it a flexible solution for diverse agricultural landscapes.

Beyond solving the immediate problem of crop damage, AgriGuard is built with sustainability in mind. It consumes minimal power, can be integrated with solar energy, and eliminates the need for harmful chemicals or continuous human intervention. For farmers, this translates into reduced losses, lower labor costs, and a more efficient way to protect their livelihoods.

By merging IoT principles with practical field engineering, AgriGuard delivers an eco-friendly, reliable, and scalable approach to modern agriculture. It stands as an example of how technology can empower farmers, support food security, and coexist harmoniously with wildlife.
